Introduction
Cupro Cover – 3 is a Green Colour Powder. It is a metal refining and recovery flux for remelting fine scrap of copper.
Application :
It is mainly used in foundries melting copper in crucibles or furnaces.
It is used in bulk quantity in large copper melting units such as copper wire manufacturing plants, copper rod manufacturing units, etc.

Gives Protective covering and prevents hydrogen pick-up, thus reduces casting defects in copper.

How To Use :
Put about ½ % of Cupro cover-3 at the bottom of the crucible. Then charge the copper scrap and give heat. Quantity of flux required will vary from 1 to 2% by weight of the metal melted.
As soon as the metal attains a pasty state, cover it up with Cupro cover-3 so as to form a layer ¼" thick on the surface of the melt.
When the crucible is full, raise the temperature and complete melting. When the melt is complete, remove the slag and plunge Cuprite block at the bottom of the crucible so as to remove the dissolved gases.
