Introduction :
MAGNESIUM REMOVER is available in orange tablet form. Magnesium plays a very important part in producing the required physical properties of many aluminium alloys, its presence in others is not required at all or must be held to a very low percentage. LM-6 may be cited as an alloy in which the presence of magnesium is not required at all although a maximum of 0.1% is allowable as an impurity.
Description :
CKCO Magnesium Remover - 50 provides a convenient and effective means of removing small amounts of unwanted magnesium from aluminium and its alloys. It is most efficiently used in reducing the magnesium contents from about 1.2% to about 0.15% although it may be used outside this range. It also excites a degassing and cleansing action on the melt.
Method Of Use :
The charge is melted down under a fairly thick layer of CKCO DROSSING FLUX-11 and the melt is raised to the required emperature with CKCO Magnesium Remover upto 800o to 850o C. The weight of melt is 100 Kgs, the weight of mangesium Remover required will be 1 Kgs. The required amount of magnesium Remover is then plunged to the bottom of the melt. It is held there untill the reaction ceases, for most efficient results. It is recommended that the total amount of CKCO MAGNESIUM REMOVER - 50 to be used should be divided up and the treatment shoud be carried out in two or three stages.

Precautions :
CKCO fluxes should not be allowed to be exposed to the atmosphere when not in use.
Packing :
5 Tablets of 100 gms. are rolled in moisture proof aluminium foil and further packed 25 Kgs. Paper Carton.
