Introduction
When Aluminium and it’s alloys are melted without a protective cover, oxidation of the melt induces oxide inclusions in the castings. CKCO COVER Flux-11 minimises hydrogen pick up and absorbs as well as collects metallic oxides formed during melting operation.
Description :
COVER FLUX – 11 & 15 are available in a pink powder form.
Quality To Be Use :
500 grams to 1000 grams ( 1 Kg ) per 100 kg. of melt.
Functions :
The flux is formulated to control effectively oxide formation and inclusion of non-metallic impurities.
It minimises the hydrogen pick up by stirring of the flux into the surface of the melt.
Finally on skimming off prior to casting, it promotes good dross-melt separation with consequent low metal loss.

Method Of Use :
Preheat the crucible to a red hot condition or preheat the furnace and charge carefully.
Give continuous heat to the charge till it attends a pasty stage, then sprinkle half quantity of Drossing Flux 11 over the surface so that the flux completely covers the melt surface.
Add balance quantity of charge and sprinkle further quantity of flux to keep the charge covered with flux.
Rabble the flux into the surface of the melt to produce a metal free dross.

Precautions :
CKCO FLUXES should not be allowed to be exposed to the atmosphere when not in use.
